Description
Pure Moroccan Saffron, Red Filaments
Dahabi saffron consists solely of bright red filaments (stigmas of Crocus sativus), carefully dried to preserve aroma and natural benefits. Moreover, this Moroccan saffron yields a golden color when infused and a warm fragrance with honeyed, lightly hay-like notes. Just a pinch is enough to enhance tagines, broths, rice, pastries, or herbal teas. Sourced from a local cooperative within a traceable supply chain, it is offered at a fair price that reflects the quality of the harvest and the manual work involved.
Ingredients: 100% pure saffron filaments (Crocus sativus), no additives.
Origin: Souss-Massa (Taliouine area), Morocco.
Harvesting & drying: hand-picked at dawn, carefully trimmed, gently dried, then sorted.
Benefits of saffron
Naturally rich in pigments (crocin) and aromatic compounds (safranal), saffron brings color, fragrance, and depth to dishes. In traditional uses, it is credited with digestive and calming benefits when taken as an infusion.
How to use
- Pre-infusion: lightly crush 5–8 filaments; infuse for 10–20 minutes in a little warm water, milk, or broth. Pour the infusion (with the filaments) in at the end of cooking.
- Savory dishes: tagines, soups, rice, fish, sauces; about ~3–5 filaments per serving (or ~0.05–0.1 g for 4 people).
- Sweets & drinks: rice pudding, brioche, custards, saffron honey, tea/herbal infusions.
- Tip: less is more but well infused; the color turns golden without overpowering the other ingredients.
Storage
Keep away from light, air, and humidity (jar tightly closed). Ideally store at room temperature, away from heat sources. The aroma rounds out after a few weeks of maturation. Best before the date shown on the label.
